Fundació Pagesos Solidaris
Origins of the foundation
The Fundació Pagesos Solidaris (hereinafter FPS) was born in 2001 driven by the Unions de Pagesos i Ramaders de les Comunitats of Catalonia, Valencia and Mallorca. The Unió de Pagesos de Catalunya, through the recruitment service in the late 1990’s, sought to address the growing demand for labor in the agricultural sector, and the arrival of new workers, often from other communities. ‘Spain, and later that of immigrants of various nationalities, highlighted the emergence of human needs in the various groups of agricultural workers. With this new situation, the FPS set out to carry out a program of work for the transversal development of diverse social fields.
