ECCA radio. Awareness Actions that Promote Interculturality in Educational Centers

Develop specific actions aimed at teachers to favor good management of diversity in educational centers, the acquisition of more extensive knowledge and competences on interculturality, and determine their role as mediating agents in the educational context. The intercultural mediator will be the Person in charge of providing the newcomer migrant with the necessary instruments to develop as a person and participate actively in the class; as well as to create among the students an environment of communication, help and respect, so that the newly incorporated student feels an equal between them and, in that way, can achieve the priority objective more quickly, which is none other than that of its full integration to the group. This project is carried out in the CCAA of Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Extremadura, Galicia, Community of Madrid and Region of Murcia. All the participants of the project will carry out a 45 -hour training and overcome this phase will carry out a practice will carry out a practice with minors where they apply what they learned in the theoretical phase.* Participants (profile): – 140 educators and social agents of educational centers.
Phase 1. Promote the participation of educators and social agents
From Radio ECCA we believe that teachers have in their hand to be able to transform society from education, but no matter how much enthusiasm, sensitivity, and vocation they have will not be able to achieve the desired transformation without the involvement and recognition of the rest of society for this reason the task of the precise education of participation not only school but also family and social. What we intend to achieve is that educators are future transmitting agents of the causes and consequences of immigration and that sensitize and promote interculturality among schoolchildren of educational centers that in turn multiply their support for diversity. to the educators of the theme of immigration and sensitize them to be the true transmitters and promote interculturality from the classroom. For this we want to carry out the following activity: dissemination of the program, in schools for the collection of educators through of different media: press, radio, institutional web, etc.
Phase 2. Training of educators and agents involved in integration
The objective of this stage is to enable the educators and social agents involved in the integration of the immigrant population, training in intercultural mediation skills with the immigrants collective. Specific objectives: 1. Know the origins , principles and methods of intercultural social mediation. 2. Know the methodology and techniques used in intercultural social mediation, understood as a tool for human relations management. 3. Analyze the types of conflict that may appear in contexts of cultural diversity and how to manage them through mediation. 4. Have tools to begin in the practice of intercultural social mediation and fight against bullying, in the formulation of social intervention projects through intercultural social mediation. CONTENT PROGRAM (45 hours): Diversity and Intercultural Mediation (30 hours) Bullying: The abuse between peers (15 hours) The program presented in this project is an important alternative for professionals since in a relatively short period They may have a specific qualification that will facilitate their mediation functions. Phase 3. Information in classrooms

Once the first phase is finished, the educators will be responsible for informing and sensitizing their schoolchildren in the classrooms with the same elements that they have used in a practical and interactive way. They will carry out dynamic actions among schoolchildren: 1. Direct intervention with schoolchildren. (6 hours). Educators interactively and through new technologies will involve schoolchildren in practical activities for their awareness and acceptance of immigration as a daily fact of the society in which they live. Its participation in radio programs will be proposed, dealing with issues such as education and integration, social action and immigration. 2. School practices that will be in charge of transmitting the knowledge acquired from the school, organizing “open -door” days to produce the multiplier effect that is intended to be achieved. Drawings, murals, photographic exhibitions, radio etc. programs on “interculturality and acceptance of diversity” from the classrooms will be exhibited.
